Whats a good SUV to downgrade to from a Mercedes ML350 especially in regards to cargo space?

I'm trying to help my mom downgrade from her Mercedes ML350 to something similar but less expensive to maintain (not another luxury car). I'm looking mostly at Japanese car makers (Toyota, Honda, Nissan or Mazda) and probably a couple years old (2009/2010 ish).

The thing I'm having the most trouble researching is the amount of cargo space each car has. I'd really like to be able to find something in which the back seats fold down completely (not just folded up against the front seats) so that the the entire space can be used, which is how her ML is.

She doesn't need something with 3rd row seats or any fancy extras

  • that's a big jump from a mercedes to a toyota or honda and frankly there are some thing in between that should meet with your sense of sensible repairs plus longevity and durability and the style she would appreciate look into the infinity or the lexus they hold both have what you are looking for they have the style the reputation for durability and they were not made in germany so no expensive parts have to take an expensive three month boat ride before coming to america which is mercedes big problem. I suggest trying to establish a relationship with a finance manager at a dealer ship and see if he can land a one ot two year old vehicle with low miles and a factory warranty still left on the vehicle.
