how do i raise my hp levels on final fantasy X?

iv revived it after many years but ive got stuck on one of the bosses. i have very low hp. im not good with the sphere grid. i dont know how i can raise the levels. will more fights help i tend to escape them..

but the fights are hard as i have such low hp i always get killed

    You need to use the Sphere Grid

    Select the option in the menu, press X and use the analog stick to move the cursor, use power spheres on nodes that increase your HP, and you'll find yourself getting stronger. Just remember you need to kill more basic enemies to gain enough points to "level up" (that is, move on the Sphere Grid from node to node)
