All you really need to do is look at a few and you'll get the idea. As far as how to format them on Microsoft word, since Word is WYSIWYG ("what you see is what you get") just use the space and tab bars to make the shape you want if it's straight lines making the shape. To make the words themselves go in a differently shaped line, you would have to get special software. If you know anyone who scrapbooks, there is scrapbook software that can shape Word lines into circles, curves, all sorts of shapes. Or if you have alphabet rubber stamps, you can hand stamp the poem into any shape you like and then use a copy machine.
