Do braxton hicks contractions feel like menstrual cramps?

I am a first time mother and 31 weeks pregnant. Never had braxton hicks but yesterday I had cramping for a minute that felt like I was getting my period. Then they went away today a few hours ago it happened again and I felt it in my lower back also. Could this be braxton hicks?

    Sounds like it, although mine feel more as though I have a large rubber band around my stomach and if I touch my stomach it's as hard as a rock.

    I wouldn't worry too much, but I would mention it to your doctor at your next visit.

    My braxton hicks suppose like menstrual cramps. I am not sure if they think like that for every person but I've heard them described that manner so much. I don't have any clue what real contractions consider like but I feel it can be painful as opposed to stressful or traumatic cramping just like the BH ones. Hope that helps!

    I think they felt rather crampy yes.

    But if cramping continues you could have UTI as this is one of the first signs especially in pregnancy.
