bronze corydora catfish?

i have bought two bronze corydora catfish and they are male and female. they mated and layed eggs. i put all the eggs on the other side of the tank with a divider. today all the babies hatched and are an inch long and look like their parents. there is at least a bit over 60 of the babies and now im giving them to the pet store and i want to keep some with the parents but i dont know how many. can anyone tell me how many baby bronze corycats should i keep with the parents.

Update:

actually i meant that today that the babies are already hatched.

  • It will depend on the tank size and the other inhabitants. But I would keep 6 for future spawns as the parents may quit.

  • Well cory cats are shoaling fish so you need to keep them in groups of at least 5. How many you keep depends on the size of your tank.I would keep no more than 5-6 in a 20 gallon. 7 in a 30.

  • How long have been you away? did you put in some sinking nutrition or a holiday nutrition block? possibly no longer. The catfish might have starved and after loss of life, have been given sucked to the filter out tube. The betta might desire to no longer kill it.or you overfed them in the past you left and the surplus nutrition rotted and brought about its loss of life. it could have been time for it to die in case you probably did no longer something incorrect. If the intake tube of the capacity filter out would not have a strainer then he might have long previous into the tube searching for nutrition and the suction pulled it in.
