This procedure to follow in the new version of Yahoo Mail:: Open your Contacts folder --> Select the contacts by clicking on the check-boxes you see in-front of the names --> You will see few options in your right side --> Select "ASSIGN CONTACTS" --> A small window will appear with the existing "Lists" names (if there are any) --> Select a name from there OR scroll down where you see "New List" (shaded), click on it --> Enter a name to the List --> Click on DONE --> All the selected contacts will be added to the LIST you have created.
* You can click on the LIST name from the left pane and check the contacts.
NOTE: If you are on BASIC version, it does not allow you to make Lists or to even move the contacts to your lists. That feature is not available as it BASIC mail (hence the name).
