Front develope problem?

My front develope is about 90 but I cant get it higher. I don't know if its strength or stretch... whichever it is, how do I build the strength / stretch?

  • Most likely it is strength. Also if you are using mostly your quad muscles on the top of your thigh and gripping them, that can stop your leg from going higher as well as bulk those muscles reducing your flexibility in your legs.

    Make sure you are engaging your turnout. Use the muscles deep within your hips and pelvic floor while wrapping your upper thigh outward. Make sure you engage your core muscles too along with your hamstrings. Instead of thinking lifting your leg, think of it being pushed up from underneath.

    Work with your teacher on this. If you use proper form and hold your leg for a bit longer each day you will gain strength and height.
