How do I take the brake off? My '02 Mercedes C230 Kompressor?

I recently got it for my birthday yet I cant drive it until next year. i was playin around with it and i notice an extra pedal on the floor and i pushed it down all the way. turns out it was the hand-brake. now its stuck there... help?

    2 models,first 1 has asmall handle written on it handbrake,left side over the brake pedal pull it,another model u have to push again on the pedal and it will release--american model only-
