Windows Vista updates for 08-09? Unable to do auto updates.?

I've tried everything I know to do, and for months on end I haven't been able to receive Windows Vista updates.

My question is pretty simple. Is there a site that has updates available for 2008-2009 in an easy to understand, user friendly type of site?

I have tried looking at the microsoft catalog site, it doesn't help me much. I need some help, or my computer won't function properly.

Anything that you can provide will help. Thanks.
