Transporting a car into Canada, how to do so?
Hi everybody~
I am finishing my college life in North Dakota, and will move
back home at Vancouver, Canada by the end of this year.
I am wondering 2 things:
- Do trucking companies transport cars into Canada? If so, usually how much does it cost for such a distance? Can I have some boxes move together within the car? Can I put a bike rack on the back and with my bike on too?
- What I should do to import my car and bike into Canada? What documents I need for the custom? How is the import tax looks like?
My car is a 2006 Mazda5, will be at about 18000 miles when it is time to go.

I think you should sell the car hun, cuz it is going to be very expensive for you to transport this car into Canada. Good luck though!
Would you guys please answer my questions and rate it if you think it is interesting or not?

Importing a car into Canda can be costly. I looked into it once and decided not to do it. The fees weren't horrible, but at the time they required replacing odometer and speedometer with kilometer based equipment. Here is a link to Transport Canada that has information you can use for more info.

There is also the possibility of taxes on the vehicle (6%). Here is link:

The sites tell you to contact Canada about the details and so on.
