How to speak to a restaurant manager?
Hi,
I was hoping you could help me re-phrase this paragraph for me?
'Hello I am a student and i am currently studying catering at college, the college requires me to look for a job within the catering industry, i was wondering if you have anything available. Im not looking for a head chef position but to perhaps be part of the team, i have a huge passion for food and hospitality but im finding it hard to find employment and i need to start somewhere right? perhaps a weekend postion? I'd love to work in your restaurant i have been a few times and thoroughly enjoyed it, so is there anyway we could discuss this further'
Im not so sure how that sounds but i really want the manager to give me a job, or consider a position so i want to really engage him in, maybe helpe me sound more persuasive?
Thanks!!!

First, you have to establish what position you want and qualify for. Line cook? Sous chef? You can't expect them to figure it out. You have to know your own qualifications and where you fit into your industry. Do you want to be in the front of the house or the back of the house? A waitress, hostess or in the kitchen preparing food. You have to know this so you don't go in and waste the restaurant manager's time. I don't say that to be rude, but simply to prepare you.
Have a resume neatly typed up detailing your experience and the classes that you are taking towards your degree. If you want a weekend position, ASK for a weekend position, but don't ask HIM if that's what you should have. OK? So all you need to know is what position or WHERE in the restaurant you'd like to work and when you're available. Good luck.
Well, only some guidelines. Where I obtained my knowledge is from organizations categories, publications in handling men and women, and my 25 years paintings revel in in handling the general public. First I detect your query is fundamental however if you happen to wish to make a primary well influence it begins along with your task software, and writing expertise. Many employers appear to look if you'll be able to write and spell. In your query right here you've gotten a few mistakes, akin to a small "i" and a few grammatical mistakes. Fix that first to make that first well influence. Now, you do not have got to talk to the executive in keeping with say. Once you ask for a task and entire an software they're going to name you. Sometimes you've gotten an interview proper immediate so be all set and often your interview is with a shift manager and sure often with the executive. Dress thoroughly, in these days for a quick meals location, you want now not get dressed up in swimsuit and tie, or pant swimsuit, however suitable apparel, great slacks and shirt, shined sneakers, right hygiene and many others. Then as you interview, concentrate to the query and "listen and fully grasp it" earlier than you answer. Since you favor meals and hospitality your responses will have to be that you're punctual, you're a group participant, you're inclined to be trained any project given, you're bendy, and many others. Always smile and be excellent. If you painting your self as a realize it all, deficient posture, sloppy apparel, deficient hygiene then recall first impressions are lasting impressions. And so much importantly be sincere, do not over exaggerate your self, if you have not performed anything than say so. Remember you're advertising your self, so cross available in the market and get that task you're searching for! Good success!
Stop into the Restaurant, a small family owed one would better suit your needs. Ask for the manager, shake hands and introduce yourself. Explain you are currently enrolled in a Catering Program at the college that requires you to have hands on experience. Let him/her know what days and hours you are available. Do not suck up with the I would love to work in your restaurant line.
