How do I scan pictures onto my computer?

I have a Mac OS X and I have no idea how to scan pictures onto it. I have a canon printer/scanner/copier/fax combo. I attempted to scan a picture onto my computer, but the computer wouldn't respond. I tried looking for scanner software, but when I tried to download it, it wouldn't download, even though it said it would, the program wouldn't show up. Can anyone PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE help me?

Flatbed or all in one machine will do--flatbeds are a little better due to streaking issues with all in one machines. If there is more than one, use the one that has the best resolution.

    Step 2

Tape multiple photos to a regular piece of white unused printer paper, putting as many on without overlapping them and leaving a small space between. Only put tape on the backs of the photos, it can ruin the front. (I usually get four regular-sized photos to fit).

    Step 3

Place paper in scanner and scan image to computer.

    Step 4

If needed or single photos are desired, use a photo editing photo to crop off the photos one by one. Eliminate any borders created by the white paper with the program. Also fix any other problems at this time and save. (The smaller images save space on hard drives on keeps them to a less ridiculous size for uploading unless your site requires large images).

    Step 5

Your photos are complete. Upload to the internet for photo sharing, making money, or website images. These also can be used for printable photos and photo CD/DVD making.

Hope it helps you. For more information http://www.iyogi.net/

  • The reason she warned you is because they're printed on heat sensitive paper (like an old fashioned fax) and the heat can darken it, rather than fade it. It is best to keep your scan pictures out of heat and sunlight. A scanner is a source of heat, as is a photocopier because of the intensity of the light within. A professional scanning machine in a shop would probably be faster and therefore expose your scan to less time in heat. Having had three babies have several scan pics and they are okay 8 years on but if you wanted to be ultra careful, because they are precious, precious things, you could always photograph the scan wtih a digital camera and then store the image? The image on your computer wouldn't be as clear as the scan but at least you wouldnt beat yourself up if anything happened to the picture of your baby. Good luck with everything xxx

  • Have you put in the cd that came with the combo if not you need to do that first so that the driver and program can go onto your pc,there are sometimes you have to install the program two or three times before they work properly.
