Do you realize the existence of Akta Orang-Orang Papa 1977 (Destitute Persons Act 1977)?

This act provides an opportunity to the destitute to obtain care and safeguard in addition to rehabilitation at the Desa Binadiri centre or Seri Kenangan Home.

Update:

Actions in accordance to the Act ;

*The destitute may be referred to the Welfare Officer for further action.

*If the Social Welfare Officer believes that the person is destitute, he may apply for a court’s order for the victim to be placed in an institution for a temporary period, which is not more than 30 days or a month, while conducting his investigations.

*After investigations, the court can orderd the entrance of the victim to Desa Binadiri for rehabilitation. This action may not be used against those 18 years and below.

  • Akta Orang Orang BN should be enacted in 2009 to protect those who 'don't know' about the law, since BN members always think they're above the law... they may forget about it sometimes and with the new Act, they can clown themselves in front of the House of Looneys even more... or maybe waste a little bit more spit in criticizing each other in front of national TV...

    Last but not least, in Malaysia, money seems to be the only law over here.
