Most turntables take pickup cartridges that come with a stylus (needle). If the fine wires in the cartridge are intact, you can simply replace the stylus. If you are unsure, replace the whole cartridge. You can get them at stores like guitar center or order them from the web, from sites like parts express, among others. The package will include instructions on how to replace the part. It usually requires only a small screwdriver.
BTW, you have almost nothing to lose by trying to replace the stylus that fell out, if you can see where it fits. Just stick it back in and make sure the point faces down to avoid damaging records.

BUY A NEW ONE!!! Once a needle is bad, it stays bad. I always have two needles when i scratch and mix.
