this problem was on my math today and i need to know if i got it right
in may a shoe company sold 50 shoes in june theysold 60 shoes what was the percent of increase in sales from may to june
12% or 20%
20%
50 x=60 (100%)
50 x=60
x=1.2=120%
a 20% increase in sales from 50 is:
50 + 0.2(50) =
50 + 10 = 60
so 20% is the correct answer.
the difference was 10, divide by original value, which is 50.. times 100 you get 20 %
20 b/c (60-50)/50
so you do 10 increase, divide by original, so 10/50 or 20%
Times both numbers them by two, subtract them, and find the percent from the difference from 100%. That's your answer. 20%.
20 % is the correct answer.
