How do I compress this file?

I have an Icon for deviantart.com and i want to use it but the file size it too big. Is there any way i can make the file size smaller?

    In order for an image to be an icon, it has to have an .ico file extension. The images on that website are not icons.

    I can only see Jpeg's and gif's,

    there are no icons there.
