Jeep Wrangler YJ transfer case problem?
When driving it during a test drive, the shifter stays in place but it won't accelerate. Then you have to come to a stop, put it in neutral, put it in 1st and let off the clutch a little. After that it goes back in. The owner says it happens in all gears and speeds, but only in 2wd High and 4WD high, not 4WD low. He says a mechanic told him it is a transfer case problem, but I'm worried it may be a transmission problem or shifter fork.
