Media player will not let me play any .asf from my camcorder. It says above I am missing a codec. does anyone know where I can get it? ( the funny thing is I can play it on my five other XPs fine, Vista seems to be the problem)

Update:

Save the project with live movie maker It works!

Comments

  • Try downloading VLC Player. It's a free, open-source media player that comes with a TON of codecs.

Odds are good to excellent that the one you need will be in there somewhere.

Even if you never touch the actual player (Which I would highly recommend- VLC is way better than WMP), the codec will be installed. This will allow WMP to play your .asf files.
