Why is nanotechnology a contemporary issue in science?

Also, describe the science involved and current developments in nanotechnology and discuss the applications of science for your topic. THANKSSSS

  • Why? Because scientists developed technology that, for the first time, allowed us to "see" and characterize materials on the "nano-scale".

If you look at the history of science, huge advancements in science came out of the development of improvements in our ability to observe. Some technologies that revolutionized science: the telescope, the microscope, the transmission electron microscope, the scanning electron microscope, the atomic force microscope, and a whole lot of other things like x-ray diffraction and micro-analysis and ion-beam technology.
