I'm going on vacation tonight and i need to take a cab from the airport to the hotel. I've never been in a cab before, do you have to have cash or can you pay with a card? How much does it usually cost?

You can anticipate a flag fare (the flat fee that is charged upfront, $2.50 in Chicago), and then it's usually XX per mile or XX time if sitting in traffic.
You can also call your hotel and ask how much a cab will be to there from the airport. They'll have approximate estimates for you!

2. Tell him/her where you want to go
3. When you get to your destination, they will tell you how much to pay
4. pay him/her in cash
5. Get out of cab
