How accurate is this paragraph?

What do many scientists claim? Many who believe in evolution would tell you that billions of years ago, life began on the edge of an ancient tidal pool or deep in the ocean. They feel that in some such location, chemicals spontaneously assembled into bubblelike structures, formed complex molecules, and began replicating. They believe that all life on earth originated by accident from one or more of these “simple” original cells

---------

I won't post the source yet just so there is no bias remarks.

Update:

What I'm getting from the responses is evolutionists don't even try to find out the origin of life? They skip that part correct?

Update 3:

The responses make it seem like if an evolutionists starts to look for the origin of life he is no longer and evolutionists but something else.

Do evolutionists have no comment on the origin of life?

Comments

  • Not accurate at all.

First, evolution isn't a "belief." It's an observed fact.

Second, the beginning of life on earth is not evolution -- that's a separate field of study.

Third, the natural results of natural processes are not an "accident."

That paragraph is dishonest, misleading, and outright false. It's a disgrace to intelligent and honest people.

  • The origin of life on Earth is not a subject I would consider myself highly educated in, and will make no remarks on the truth value of the paragraph.

And I do not speak for all "Evolutionists". I can only speak for myself.

  • It sounds like it is might be something simplified for young children.

The use of the word 'believe' leads me to think that it is not from a scientific source.

  • As spontaneous as a strike of lightning or a collision of a meteor? to bring together molecular structures that normally would not form at equilibrium? Yeah that sounds entirely possible ... though no life anywhere on any planet sounds probable to me.

    @Digital-Worlds

I wouldnt say it makes more sense ... maybe just as much sense?

  • two quotes from Watchtower...

    http://wol.jw.org/en/wol/pc/r1/lp-e/1200273444/91/...

which is WHY they have stupidly confused Evolution with how life began on this Planet...

Only complete scientific Morons confuse those two...

  • That is not the predominant thinking. And as the fellow above points out it has nothing to do with evolution.

  • The source is jw.org, and they are lying for God.

The number of respected scientists that make such claims approaches zero.

  • It's not accurate at all...

Evolution says nothing about the origins of life...

    IMHO

  • Reads as if an anal retentive had something to do with it.

  • pretty accurate, but monkeys will never admit that because they learn to know that saying that life formed through natural selection...sounds pretty dumb
