Car Audio Setup Help?

When I get a new car, I'm going to be getting an all new set up.

I currently have 2 boston acoustic 12 g5s with the gtrs and boston acoustic speakers powered by orion amps.

They sound really great, but the subs arent really loud enough for me, though the quality is amazing.

In my new car I want to go all out and do it up right, for the first time and just not have to worry or be disappointed.

What I want is LOUD yet CLEAN sound from my components. With the subs I want it to be the same but I also want it to choke me up so I can't breathe. I am thinking about going back to a ported box for that aspect but ported sucks for listening to rock. I listen to a lot of rock and a lot of rap

I am going to stick with boston acoustic speakers, and power them by either a rockford amp or a kicker amp.

I have no idea what to do for subs. I want to try to keep my total cost down, but I'll spend the money if I really think its worth it.

I was thinking like the pioneer champion speaker (either the 12 or 15) but I don't know if its worth it.

I really just don't know what to do. I'd like to keep it with one sub, but if I got two lower RMS subs I'd get two.

And please dont shove JL down my throat.

Thanks.

  • I have a good, but still cost efficient, sub in a really well built quality box.

One 10" Alpine Type R in a dual-ported Obcon box. With this single 10" sub I have great sound quality when watching movies or music videos. But then I can crank it up and really make the windows flex.

What I do whenever I get a new car: I sell the old stereo equipment then use the money to buy all new stuff. This way you will be sure to get component speakers that fit in your car, you can get good amps to match them. If you have something really nice like good subs or an amp, then keep those if you want.

  • That relies upon what variety of music you hear to, and your prefence on bass. That equipment will sound solid on the better end yet will lack on the low end as an 8 inch sub won't hit very not basic. i'd improve the top unit because it controls each and every thing and provides your equipment greater strategies and could probable provide your audio equipment greater ability. not as much as an amp even regardless of the undeniable fact that it is going to help. in case you elect a sub for bass then get a mono amp and adventure its rms with the subs rms wattage. it extremely relies upon on your funds yet a head unit is the ideas so i'd start up with that.

  • One sub isn't going to choke you out!!!! If THATS what you're going for, you're going to have to start upping the amount of power AND subs!! And you might not like this, but if you want advice but tell people to not talk about a "quality" brand, then your options are going to be limited... Don't knock on JL just because a lot of people seem to talk it up... a lot of people talk up rockford too... and MTX... Not favorites of mine, but they have qualities that others like!
