How do you calculate your bra size?

I have been on several websites, and they are all telling me different (ranging from 34A-30E). Underneath the breast I am, 28 inches, and around the fullest part of the breast I am 35 inches. Can anyone please help me calculate my bra size?

  • I'd say a 30DD would be your best bet. Otherwise try a 32D or 28E. Definitely not a 34 band, that's too big. Remember the bra should fit comfortably on the first hook, if it's loose you need to go down a band size and up and cup size to keep the same volume in the cup.

    Hope this helps.

  • Since your first measurement was 28 (even number) you add 4 inches. If it was an uneven number, you would add 5 inches. 28 + 4 = 32. Subtract your second measurement by your first one. 35 - 32 = 3.

    AA- 0 inch difference

    A- 1 inch difference

    B- 2 inch difference

C- 3 inch difference (your cup size)

Now, take your ribcage measurement, and your size is 32C

    here's a website if you're confused:

  • Well I always learnt from my mum that it's always

add 3 inches to the underneath (making yours 31) then if it's an odd number, then add 1 inch. making you a 32.

    Then for the bust line

    26-28= AA

    28-30= A

    30-32= B

    32-34= C

    34- 36= D

    etc. Making you a 32D

however this method doesent ALWAYS work on me. It's always good to go to your local M&S. I know they do a free bra fitting service.

    I hope I've helped

  • don't go any bigger thana 30 band size. that should fit you perfectly.

7 inches difference is quite a bit, it will about about an F cup.

look on the website figleaves for lots of 30F bras and fitting advice. also try 28FF and 32E/DDD.
