Placenta Previa?
I just got diagnosed with Placenta Previa. I'm 22 weeks prego and my doc says i may have to have a c-section. Has anyone else been diagnosed with this before or do you know anything about it. My doc says that this is caused by stress and lifting. I know i've been under alot of stress cause my mother in law has been living with us. She is gone now though. Could my Placenta move and everything be ok. Please someone ease my mind about this. Whatis the worse that could happen to me and my baby??

Yes it could move.. mine did. Chances are your doctor will schedule an ultrasound close to your due date to see if the placenta has moved higher. It happens all the time. I'm 33 weeks pregnant and i have been diagnosed with Placenta Previa everytime. I'll find out in a couple weeks if this time is like the others and the placenta moves up. The worse: a c-section. The do a c-section with Placenta Previa because the placenta is blocking the birth canal making it impossible for the baby to be born natural. If it was a case of severe Placenta Previa which I think the person who answered "your placenta rupturing" was referring to, your doc would have probably put you on either bed rest or limited activities. Because your doctor knows your case better than anyone here, I would ask her/him. You are not going to ask anything she hasn't already heard before.
Note: It isn't always caused by stress. Sometimes implantation can occur low in the uterus making the placenta lay low.
Good Luck!
It is possible that your placenta will move when the baby turns.
I had a partial, where it was only covering part of the of the exit and when she flipped to head down she moved it out of the way.
I'm sure the doctor said he'd check you again later in your pregnancy.
The worst that can happen is your placenta could completly rupture. That can be fatal. I almost lost my life I lost a lot of blood and had to have an infusion. Thankfully my little angel had no problems from it. If you take it easy and relax then everything should be ok. The c-section is to make sure it does not rupture from pushing. It is very unlikly that your placenta will move but everything will probably be great with you and your baby just make sure you do what your dr says.
