Sky TV vs Digital problem?

Hi this maybe obvious to some people but I'm stuck.

I recently got sky in our house. On our main set with the skybox all is fine but the other TVs in the house that had a digital set-top box have stopped working apart from terrestrial TV. Is there a way of getting digital tv back on those sets or even better getting our sky through those tvs as well?

  • I had a similar issue with Virgin Media (cable). They do not want you to watch Sky or Cable on more than one set, so they make no allowance for a second (or third) set when they hook you up.

As they set it up, the coax cable from the Sky box goes straight to your aerial socket on the main TV. You need to unplug tiis from the TV and fit a coax Y connector to the end of this cable. One arm of the Y connector will go to the main TV and the other arm goes to the "round the house" cable.

Is the main set HDTV? If so, you will probably have to set the sky box output to non-HD if you want to see the Sky on the other sets (I know how to do this on the Virgin box but I don't have Sky). Next you need to tune the analogue tuners on the other sets to pick up the Sky RF output (somewhere above Ch 50 usually).

If you still have problems please email me.

  • try this switch sky box on go to services then option 4 then press the numbers 0 then 1 then select then choose the full system restore option that normally sorts it out. if that dont work maybe you can purchase a sky + box from ebay on the cheap. you must press the numbers 0 then 1 then SELECT button in the middle for it to work
