Use the "PEMDAS" rule: First do operations within parenthesis, then do exponents, then do multiplication, division, finally do addition and subtraction. It there is a tie between multiplication and division, or addition and subtraction, do what comes first, left to right.

-3(-5)^2 = -3(25) = -75.
Multiply first. 3(12/5)-3 = 3/1 x 12/5 - 3 = 36/5-3 = 36/5- 15/5 = 21/5 = Answer: 4 1/5 I could be wrong but i think that's how you solve it.
always apply exponents first, then go with multiplication
so (-5)^2 = 25 then 25*(-3) = -75
general order is exponents, multiplication and division, addition and subtraction
alrighty
-3(-5) to the 2nd power
-3(-25)
-75
answer is -75
multiplication always before addition thats the rule
the answer is -3(25)=-75
square first. -3(25) = -75
You do the exponent first.
The order of operations is Please Excuse My Dear Aunt Sally:
P - Parentheses
E - Exponents
M - Multiplication
D - Division
A - Addition
S - Subtraction
you do the square first.
The only way you'd mulitiply first is if the problem was this:
(-3(-5))²
Parentheses
Exponents
Multiplication and
Division
Addition and
Subtraction
