how to do a DiHybrid cross?

A dihybrid cross was performed between two pea plants. One plant was homozygous dominant for purple flowers and round seeds, the other plant was homozygous recessive for purple flowers and round seeds (assume independent assortment of genes). Draw a Punnett Square showing the F2 generation produced. What are the resulting phenotypes and genotypes generated? Please give the number of each phenotype and genotype generated.

  • Lets follow the law of independent assortment:

The F1 generation would be hybrid dominant for both traits. (They would all have purple flowers and round seeds)

I can't draw a Punnett Square, but what would happen would be that the offspring would be 25% pure dominant, 50% hybrid dominant, and 25% pure recessive for each trait of having purple flowers and round seeds.

The phenotype would be 75% purple flowers and 25% without purple flowers and 75% round seeds and 25% without round seeds.

    Hope this helps.

  • Sorry, in spite of the incontrovertible fact that it does seem want you acquire it... Heterozygous for the two could advise that they each and every have a dominant and a recessive for each trait. it is frequently a common Dihybrid flow. the consequences of which constantly stick to a phenotype ratio of 9:3:3:a million. bypass back and redo your flow. Your answer is between the 4....the two 9, 3, 3, or a million out of sixteen. placed up back and permit me be attentive to if you acquire it....i visit video show this for a couple of minutes to work out once you're nevertheless engaged on it.
