Which do you prefer: Ezra or Zebedee?

For a boy, which name do you prefer: Ezra or Zebedee?

(I have a feeling that this will pretty much be a "no contest.")

I'd prefer not to hear an answer of "neither." If you hate both, you are welcome to tell me so, but I'd still like to know your vote, of which you hate the least.

  • My little brother's name is Ezra, so I'm a little biased, but I prefer Ezra. Its a great name that's unique but not to different. Plus I like the biblical origin!

But, that honestly doesn't mean I don't like the name Zebedee. I've never heard it before, but I really like the name Zeb. And I just bet that if you named your son Zebedee that people would call him Zeb. It just comes naturally from the name.

  • I really like Zebedee, it's different and interesting! However, I love love love the name Ezra, so I'll have to choose that. But Zebedee would make a good middle name!!

  • I'm actually going to name my son Ezra. So, of course I like it better. Zebedee is just a little too out of the norm.

  • Yeah pretty easy - I think Ezra is a great name.

Although Zebedee is a fun name with a lot of zip, I think it will forever remind me of "The Magic Roundabout".

  • I love Zebedee. I have a little cousin named Zebedee and everyone calls him Zeb. He is such a cutie. I had Zebedee on my short-list for my last pregnancy and when we didn't use it my cousin did so now I still get to use the name a lot. Best of both worlds.

  • Oh. I thought (when I only saw the question-not the details) this was for a girl. I think Ezra (when I read it i thought it was Ezara) I think that sounds exotic.

But for a boy... I like Zebedee. That sounds kinda masculine. :D

  • I'm sorry but those are 2 of the gayest names I've ever heard. But I guess Zebedee is worse, because it sounds like his parents were smoking pot when they randomly came up with that name. Ezra is still pretty gay, though.
