So I just made a PayPal account and I noticed both that it doesn't charge me anything to use and has no ads. So I was wondering, how does such a service make a profit? Where does the money come from?

Once you make a payment through Ebay then Ebay takes 10% of the payment and Paypal takes about 2-3%.
It charges you when you receive money from an ebay buyer
