Algebra Word Problem?
A number subtracted from 12 is equal to the quotient of -49 and -7. Find the number.
So far, I think it's: 12 - x = -x/49 - x/7
But where to go from there (if correct)? LCD should be 49, but I've forgotten which sides to multiply it by.
Thanks for the help.
(Also the answer if 5, I just need to know how to get to it.)
Comments
The quotient of -49 and -7 is 7 so 12-x=7
It should be like this
12-x=-49/-7
12-x=7
x=12-7
x=5
