  • Once you hit the teens in sizes, you are a bit big.

I'm using Americans sizes as a rule of thumb - not familiar with the others.

  • First of all, an English 16 is NOT an American 20. Your sizes in the UK are about two sizes higher than ours over here. An American 14 would be comparable to an English 16. And yes, that is a very large size. An American 20, which would be absolutely gigantic, would be the same as an English 22. If we are talking about a typical woman of normal height, I would say anything over a size 8 is chunky, and anything over a size 10 is downright fat. I know I'm going to get tons of thumbs down over this, but I work at Bloomingdale's and I sell clothing all day, so I know what the people who buy certain sizes look like. If someone is over 6' tall then yes, they might wear a larger size and still be of a healthy weight, but if we are talking about an average, 5'5 or 5'6 woman, a size 6 is pretty much healthy. I wear like a 0 or a 2 but I have an extremely light build and suffer from digestive problems that prevent me from gaining any weight. So I probably should wear a 4 or 6. If I wore an 8 or bigger, I would be a fat person. That's about it. The biggest size I ever wore was a size 4 or 5, and at the time I weighed about 120. At 5'4, that is PLENTY. You'd have to weigh like 140+ to wear anything over a 6, and I'm sorry, but that is FAT.

  • I don't know much about sizes, especially women's sizes. If the waist of your trousers is like 48 inches, I guess you are fat. But really, that's not a good way to determine whether or not someone is a fatty. It depends on the height of the person and their build. I weigh about 250, but I am also 6'4 and I have a larger build than a lot of people so although I am definitely a little overweight, I am not what most people would consider to actually be "fat". Whereas someone who was 5'4 and of a light build who weighed 250 would definitely be a fat person.

  • I consider myself fat I weight over 200 now that is fat

  • A size 20(American) would be considered fat. Sorry sweetie

  • it really depends on the persons height.. and if you lead an incredibly unhealthy life [not YOU in particular lol, that's not what i mean] then i think you are fat. if you have genetic obesity, or if you're muscled up, then i do not consider you fat. or like post baby, i do not consider that fat, because it's just part of the process!

  • errr. i really dont even know how big a size 20 in america is... i really dont know the sizes unless theyre either my size or close to it.. but compared to my size, id assume a size 20 is relatively large..
