wma audio cd's to mp3 format?

how do i convert my ordinary pre-recorded cd's to mp3 format so i can put them on my mp3 player.i have nero7 but am lost at finding the right component,please help?

  • Nero does not convert .wma or any other format to .mp3. (neither does Windows, not sure about Vista though). You have to get a 3rd party program to convert or rip directly to .mp3 (usually costs money). If you want a free one (Shareware), try GoldWave (you have to find the free plug-in for it too).

    Both Goldwave and Audacity are free, as are the encoders you need to add. Record the cd using Media Player. Open Audacity, open the file, then select File - Export As MP3.
