burn desighns onto a bowl?
ok so i have this bowl that i made out of wood? and i want to torch i and make the grains stand out with a good finish...how would i do that? how else could i put a nicely burned finish on it?

Use a propane torch, and any soft part of the wood will will burn first and darken first. You can also control how dark or light you want it by moving the torch closer or farther away.
When you get the effect you want you can use a medium to fine steel wool and then a very fine sandpaper to smooth it out. And then hit it with some acrylic polyurethane spray.
