  • I'm going to assume 2 things:

    1) You are using a Windows based PC.

    2) You saved the file without specifying a file type so GIMP saved the file in it's native format which is a ".xcf" file extension. In which case I'd recommend saving the file as a .gif.

To do this simply open the file with GIMP. Go to File on the tool bar and then choose "Save As." When you choose "Save As" you will be able to specify as to what type of file you want to save your image as. Specifically it will read "Save File Type by Extension." This may be towards the bottom of your "Save As" window. It will also have a plus sign next to it to expand it's listings. Then simply choose the .gif extension and click the "Save" button.

Then you should be able to right click on the .gif image and say you want to "Set as your desktop background."

  • If the image you employ for own laptop historic past is to small then once you stretch it to finished demonstrate length it quite is going to be blurry. I easily have consistently had that situation. i think of each physique has that situation. attempt to locate a bigger version of the image and it will probable seem ok.
