Your vagina is a muscle, muscles can ache and twinge just like anyother muscle. It could be that you are carrying low and your growing baby is causing muscle spasms. Many women get them later in pregnancy, but they could happen at any other time. It sounds like you are going to the doctor regularly, unless they become extremely painful such as you can't talk when they are occuring or you experience bleeding or contractions I wouldn't worry.
And it would NOT be uncommon for her doctor to do an additional pap at 4 months with all the symptoms she's had just as a failsafe sometimes people with cervical dysplasia (which can be detected by pap) experience pain in their vaginal and cervical area. A pap would detect any abnormal cells or cell changes on the cervix.
The first answer to your question is "Have you had a pregnancy test" If so,then you should have told the doctor your symptoms, and usually at four months pregnant OB Gyn doctors don't conduct pap smears, Are you sure you don't have a STD, some signs of STD are not shown, however you may have a STD but if your doctor stated that you do not, then don't worry, because stress is not healthy for the baby, trust me I know I am the proud mother of twins at 38 weeks I carried my twins, and believe me nothing can hurt your vagina more (smile). However, it could be several reasons, but if I were you, I would consult with the OB Gyn before listening to everyone else. I gave birth to twins, my first twin Joshua was in breech, and I didn't experience pain, just discomfort on my side, in fact that's how I found out I was having twins, because when I expressed my discomfort with my doctor he immediately order a ultrasound. My twins weighed 7lbs 12 ounces (Joshua) and Jamal weighed 6lbs 15 ounces, so don't be fooled by stories from people, consult with your physician and I hope the best for you and congratulations on your pregnancy, Think positive!
I'd just like to say to a couple of the others on here about not having a pap done at 4 months pregnant....if she's high risk, they do them all the time. I know, I've had them done. So, it's not that off the wall. They will also do a pap if it's her first visit to the OB since becoming pg.....now the other stuff, I'm not so sure about, but the pap thing isn't that off the wall. Just an FYI
ok first off i seen your other Q and was curious so i read this one. if queen has the time an patience to list all those questions, shes the one who doesnt have a life. second, talk to you dr about the pain again, im 27 weeks and i get this from time to time but its cause i have symphisis pubis dysfunction which it the babt putting pressure on the joint at the front of the pelvis. and thirdly you can have an internal exam at any point in pregnancy as they need to know if infection is there so she is wrong, i just had one last week
good luck
sounds like pressure. the baby is getting bigger and that is pushing down on your vagina. You will want to watch for contractions or blood in the discharge, but other then that get use to it. Expect it to get worse as the pregnancy progresses
I had some pains in the vaginal area early in my third tri. Pregnancy affects everyone differently, I wouldn't worry about it unles it becomes incredibly painful.
This really doesn't mean that your pregnant it could be the way you sit or the clothes you wear it could be allot of things. You might want to go see a O.B.G.Y.N and see what they would have to say but my guess is it is the way you sit or wear your clothing!
Sometimes. Did you tell your doctor about the pain? Mine ached but i was further along. I hope you feel better.
call the OB.
