Eczema problem?

I was in the sun from 12-6. I was at a music festival and there was no shade. I got a horrible sunburn on my face, arms and back. 3 or 4 days later my skin started to peel. This has lasted for about 5 days. I didn't use sunscreen because I'm allergic to it. I'm allergic to most skin products apart from vaseline, aloe vera and sorbolene cream. But they're not doing anything for me.

Is there any cream that I can buy over the counter. Or should I go to a skin dermatologist?

I haven't had eczema this bad since I was 8 years old, so I can't remember what cream I used to use for treatment. All I remember was it was brown and thick.

  • It may be worth trying a probiotic.

I used Primadophilus Reuteri for my baby, which is the same friendly bacteria found in human breastmilk. Infacol use the reuteri strain for their probiotic droplets - you will need to phone/shop around the local independant pharmacies to find a stockist or look online. I purchased the Primadophilus (brand name) Reuteri from the US, much cheaper than buying the infacol, and sadly no one seems to sell it in the UK. In NZ every health food shop stocks it, though it must be kept refrigerated.

Take one capsule after a couple of weeks you can up the dosage to a maximum of three capsules, though there is no reported harm, as friendly bacteria is as healthy and natural as you can get.

Try the website betterlife.com. They were the most reasonable price and very prompt delivery.

This has completely cleared my son's eczema

    Best wishes

  • You can find a good natural remedy for your eczema here http://www.goobypls.com/r/rd.asp?gid=556 .

A few more tips: topical medicines or ointments can be used to treat eczema, which are usually recommended or authorized by dermatologists and skin care experts. However, while these cures are available, you need to remember that prevention is still the best way to protect oneself from this skin condition. Make sure to keep your skin hydrated, maintain daily body hygiene, and avoid using skin products that are harsh on your skin. A good lifestyle can also prevent the onset of this skin condition. Always remember to take care of yourself, and avoid getting yourself into stressful situations. Develop this habit, and you'll be successful in averting this very common skin condition. It may be hard to do, but with a little discipline, persistence, and will power, you will be able to handle it well.
