how do i fix an ip address conflict??
when i try to log on to my laptop it wont let me then it says that i have an ip address conflict with another computer on my network.i dont know much about computers so if you can resolve my problem please put it in simple terms.

Right click my network places > select properties > Right click local area connection > select TCP\IP and hit properties > check the IP, if you are on a home based network select obtain an IP address automatically and see if you can get to the internet. If not, you need to pick another IP that is not being used on that network,
Use/obtain a different IP # or track down the other computer on your network that's causing the conflict & disable the network connection.
Try using another IP address. Something in the same subnet.
