  • We were doing monologues in literature class today and we were told to remember one tip. Show not tell. Don't say things like, I was feeling sick today. Be like, today, I almost vomited, my hands were clammy. My head was steamy...What if...what if I actually vomited. I'd never go back to the school.

That's a key tip! Be the character, write how someone would usually think. Imagine an actor performing you monologue, don't make it like a story which they have to read, have it like a play they have to act.

There's a great website for monologues I've found, if you comment on tips, they'll be sure to help you out. There's tons of monologues there too! From dramatic to comedic. Check it out.

  • Basically, you have to really get inside the character's head. You have to show that you really mean what you are saying, and show that emotion through the words that you use.

  • So easy - just be as boring as you can!!
