Can i apply for a tourist Visa to America from Australia but I am holding a Malaysian Passport?

I'm planning on visiting America during my semester break in September/October. I am currently in Australia on a student visa and I hold a Malaysian passport. Is it possible to apply for a tourist visa (Nonimmigrant Visa) from here? or would i have to go back to Malaysia to do so?
