Yes!!!!!!! Its called Summer Heights High and is very very very funny. Set in a school and a comedian plays 3 different characters. the 1st a gay pretentious, bitchy drama teacher, the 2nd character a horrid, spoilt middle class student who is only at the school on an exchange visit and the third a problem child who cant read or write @ 15 yrs old from Tonga who is obsessed with hip hop and break dancing, which he does very badly...
Another one is called Kath and Kim.. Which i didnt find very funny but if you like s/h/i/t stuff like friends and two and a half men you'll probably like this more.
Apart from the 2 the previous user mentioned i think the only other one in the last 10 years that has been successful in getting a 2nd season is The Librarians.
The most successful and longest running Australian sitcom was Hey Dad,it ran for 7 years in the late 1980's/mid 1990's.
Frontline was another one from the 1990's.
Australian comedy is now mostly game and panel based shows.
