is depo provera a good birth control?
is depo provera good in preventing pregancy? Ive been on the shot for three months and i got my second shot on the 16th of july, me and my boyfriend were intimate same day (no ejaculation) the next day we were intimate and used a condom, am i safe and protected? i dont need a kid so thats why i ask.

Update:and both of us agreed to be protected (he uses condoms, im on the shot) i just am curious if it really works and i can relax and not worry bout being preggo.
Update 3:i dont care bout the side effects (ive actually done very well with the side effects) im just curious is it good in proventing pregnacy

Yes it is brill, it is more affective than condoms and the pill, very very few people get pregnant on the depo.
Unfortunately, the depo can have quite the opposite problem - many women who have had the injection stuggle to concieve, even 10 years later, and approx 10% of women who have had the shot can be permanently infertile.
When coming off the depo, it takes around a year and a half minimum to fall pregnant, and can take 5 years for your cycle to return.
It you want children in your future, it might be a good idea to talk to your doctor about less permanent forms on contraception.

EDIT: You have no need to worry and you can relax, it is almost impossible to get pregnant on the depo, like I said, it's more likely you will have the opposite problem
