  • your shift cable is misadjusted or worn beyond repair. If you are savvy, you can go under the truck and manually operate the lever to put it into park, but make sure the wheels are chocked. Best to have it repaired proffesionally.

  • what has caused this is the linkage is either loose on it or it has stretched some, this can be adjusted out of it though you,ll have to put the e- brake on ,and get in under it and loosen the linkage on it,and move the arm on the transmission to park position then adjust the linkage to where its right with the piece on the transmission if its cable controlled it may be stretched out so that you cant adjust it,but usually all of them can be adjusted,it has just slipped though its not a major thing to worry about, ten minutes to adjust it and it should be alright, good luck hope this helps.

  • the priority is you have a gaggle of lights furnishings on and the vehicle won't shift. in case you're asserting the shifter relatively won't circulate from the park place, it quite is a undesirable shelter practices launch swap. it quite is the component that prevents you from shifting out of park whilst no longer having your foot on the brake. provided that your abs and brake lights furnishings are on, alongside with an eng. gentle, you probably have some digital subject concerns going on in there. there could be a thank you to place the vehicle in independent with it off. many circumstances, you are able to prepare the important or there's a keyhole next to the shifter, and with the important indoors the dazzling place, you are able to basically placed it in independent. then you particularly definately can initiate the vehicle, stress it to Autozone, and get a loose ensure eng diagnostic attempt.

  • If it absolutely wont go into park, then something in the shift linkage or cable has broken or slipped. If it is just the indicator doesn't match the gear position then the indicator itself has broken.

  • The linkage on the transmission is loose, or you bent the linkage mount.

    Climb under it and look.
