I have a pink ponte blazer and would love to have a black ponte blazer, but I don't want to just toss it into a rit dye bath, with no idea on how well ponte accepts dye.
Ponte is a fabric; you need to know the fiber content to determine if it can be dyed. Also check the instructions -- if it can't be machine washed, then the probability of it coming out nicely from dyeing is minimal. The hardest color to dye at home is black. the blazer is probably sewn with polyester thread and a polyester lining fabric, so the best you're likely to get is a black blazer with dirty pink stitching and lining.
