How do I cite this quote?
I want to cite this quote from Owen Meredith:
"There is nothing certain in a man's life but that he must lose it."
But I can't find it's source. How do I cite this in a paper?

Well, go with what you've got, and that's the name.
"There is nothing certain in a man's life but that he must lose it" (Meredith).
You could probably try searching for this quote online, and once you find a website that has it, cite the website so it can be your source.
O.K. The easiest way to do this is to just use a book or source that uses his quote.
Here is a book of quotations with his quote in it: http://books.google.com/books?id=_WsmIGNyFJ8C&pg=P...
The image isn't showing up, but now you have the name of the book, the authors, and the page number. Look up the title on Amazon for Date Published, etc. and you'll be good to go.
Yes, you still need to include citations for ALL direct quotes. You can usually eliminate the author's last name in the citation and just include the page number as long as you have made the title and the author evident earlier in the paragraph.
Go to this page, the quote is by Edward Bulwer-Lytton

A simple search for the quote quickly yielded that result.
you have to know the source in order to site it.
You can go to citationmachine.net (Real professional and a real pain in my royal ***) But it's professional and you should give it a shot.
