Do COndos allow dogs?

Does anyone know...If You buy a condo do they usually allow pets in the communities?

  • There's no standard answer. Some do, some don't, and you'd have to check on the restrictions for each condo you are considering.

  • They usually do because you're actually buying the condo as opposed to renting it. As an owner, you have a greater measure of flexibility as to what you can and cannot do in your living space. It's not like an apartment where you pay rent and put down a deposit and then have to try and get the deposit back when you move out. The only time I have seen condos that don't take pets are those in exclusive, gated communities (and some of them allow pets anyway). Best bet is to ask before you buy.

  • From my experience not the condos that have carpeting throughout, and they usually have a list of dogs that you can and cannot have. Depends on the Condo Association terms.

  • Depends on the owners of the condo and the homeowners associations that are related to that particular community.

  • It just depends on each condo community.

Sometimes they have a weight restriction like 25 lbs. Mine has no restrictions at all, only that we have to keep ours leashed when outside.
