1992 Honda Accord, No power to fuel pump..?

It's a 92 Honda Accord. Had an intermittent no start issue that is fuel related. First thing I change the fuel pump. Then I put everything back together and Im getting no power at the pump. I also changed the main relay. Still no power at the pump and the fuses are good. Everything is plugged in and hooked up. Pump works fine when I jump the pump with power. Only thing I found suspicious is there is a gray connector I found in the trunk plugged into nothing, but I don't see another harness to plug into it.. does anyone know if this plugs into anything, because the harness runs from the pump to the brown connector (guessing it is for fuel gauge). from there it goes into the trunk and splits off between the gray mysterious connector and then it grounds. Any help?

  • well, there is really only two things that can cause the fuel pump to stop working. The main relay burned out (it doesnt always have to be the bad solder points) and melted wires between the relay and the pump....thats about it.

and for the wire u are talking about, take all the panels out and see what u come up with bro.

  • Hi,

With fuel injected cars, there is always a bump switch that will shut off power to the fuel pump in case of accident. If the car is hit hard enough to puncture a fuel line, then this switch is supposed to shut off the fuel pump.

Check the owner's manual for instructions on where to find the switch, and usually there is a red button to push to reset it. The wire might have come off the switch.

Check another car of the same make and model and see if there is supposed to be a fuel switch where the gray wire is not plugged into anything.

    Good Luck!

  • With maximum automobiles, that's usually quicker and extra low priced to substitute the finished engine than merely including a quicker. via the time you have dealt with the subject concerns of exact area, air bypass and cooling, that's often a minimum of various thousand. additionally, including a quicker to an engine will many times have secondary effects that require adjustments to different components, which comprise exhaust, transmission and brakes.

  • that gray clip might connect in to your harness so when you turn the key it dosent get power
