hair color problem...??

I just got my hair done. It was previously colored dark with very pale blonde highlights. I decided to have red-violet color put over some of the blonde pieces. It looks really good, except for the color bled onto a few pieces I wanted to keep blonde and it looks PINK.

I hate it. The red, dark brown, and blonde look pretty...but these few strands of cotton candy pink are driving me nuts. My stylist said it should wash out eventually-- but I always wait a few days to wash to prevent my all over color from fading.

I have plans tonigt and I dont want pink hair. What can I do??? I have some gentle bleach made to bleach arm/upper lip hair. Would it be safe to put this on for a few minutes to get rid of the pink? Any suggestions???

  • Use dishwashing liquid NOT bleach, but only use it on the pink spots. It should come right out.

Have your mom, sister or best friend help you. Carefully wash just the strands that are pink almost the same way that they foil hair at the salon- put a piece of foil or plastic wrap under the strand that needs washed but over the hair that does not need washed and wash by hand each set of strands that are pink. Use something mild like dove or ivory, not dawn. Use a panit brush on it if you have to and paint a watered down solution on the strands then rinse being careful not to get it on the good hair.

    good luck!

If this is too much of a pain, then you can just wash your whole head with Prell shampoo, or any Suave shampoo and the pink will come out also, but it may fade the other parts too.

  • NO!! it is a totally different kind of bleach. If you have a detoxifying shampoo you can just wash those particular strands and it may draw out some of the pink. You can also try some Dawn dish soap put it on a wet wash cloth and just work it into those particular strands. When you rinse it just use a squirt bottle and get those strands wet. All the colors are pretty but unfortunately when you have blonde & red you will usually get some running like that. Red pigment is hard to keep in and when you wash your hair it fades & the red pigment runs to and can catch on the less porous hair like the blonde and it will stain it. I hope this helps a little one way to keep the red from running is to try to have the blonde hair already wet if that is possible, wet hair does not absorb as much or as fast. Unfortunately you may just have to let it fade out the shampoo should help a little. Good luck.

  • Your stylist said that the red dye would wash out of your bleached highlights??? Um... unless she was using a gentle semi-permant, I'm going to say probably not. Go back to your stylist and tell her you have plans and ask her to fix it. If you don't have time to get it fixed, either embrace your new punk rock do or style it in a way that hides the pink. You may end up with a bigger problem if you attempt to fix it yourself.

  • I wouldn't mess with the bleach...if you are not happy with your hair then your hairstylist has the responsibility to correct it for you. If you bleach it, and it goes not so well...then you are just stuck with what you've created! As you want to go out tonight before you can wash your hair, then why not wear a bandana or hat, or gell it back or something like that?

  • Bleaching it, especially lightly, will just make it another shade of pink. You're screwed, in a sense, unless you do an all-over colour.

  • get rid of it? why would you want to do that?

bleaching it can make your hair fall out if you do it worng so watch what your doing and make sure you KNOW what your doing.
