Does coffee cause acne?
The only major thing different in my diet is I have started to have about 12 cups of coffee a week,
before I had about 4
Whatever caused it hasn't a lot, just I don't get spots much and i have a bit recently... is it likely that the coffee caused it?

Acne is primarily a hormonal condition driven by male or ‘androgenic’ hormones, which typically become active during the teenage years. Sensitivity to such hormones, combined with bacteria on the skin, and fatty acids within oil glands, cause acne. There is no research that provides the coffee as acne suspicion. NO coffee doesn't cause acne but scientific evidence shows 'caffine' is more likely to be the cause. The problem is stress hormones are increased with caffeine, as is the production of sebum in the sebaceous glands, with secrete sebum and oils that can lead to acne. Best to take in all foods in moderation, too much of any one thing is bad for your skin.
I have one cup some times 2 a day..so your 12 cups of coffee a week isn't aweful and moderate..but it is adding more caffine than your used to, so your body may be adjusting to it..cut back some and see what happens.
