Reply Emails dilemma?? Cultural difference?

I work in a biochem research lab with a few Japanese MD, PhD post-docs. I am just undergraduate but I've been there for 3 years (longer than most of them). All of them never reply my e-mails (work emails, such as spreadsheets). Most of the time, they asked for specific info. a few days ago, i was asked to find local piano instructors since I play piano. I went on google, looked up not only my instructor's address and also made phone calls to my friends so i could provide more options.

And I didn't receive any reply of any form?? I would expect at least an indication that he has received the information. later I had to ask him did you get me e-mail? reply: yes...

I guess i'm a little offended, but just intrigued.

Thanks!!!

  • Because they have a much higher degree than you, they are being very arrogant and have no respect for you. They look down on you and treat you as a servant. Next thing they'll be asking you to fetch their coffees and go out to pick up their lunches for them.

  • The more sophisticated we get the more stupid they be. Rude is rude in any culture, don't let it ruin your day:)
