do you promote same sex marriage?
If you are homosexual, why do you think its better or why the law should add on this? Is it because we are in 21th century and we should always accept new things?
If you are heterosexual why do you think its okay to approve or disapprove this idea? Is it because biologically homosexual can not be called partners since we, humans, cant self produced offspring?
why? please share your knowledge and your experiences.

I am an American homosexual man
I pay taxes commensurate to my income, just like all other middle class Americans
If my straight neighbor marries, he automatically receives tax benefits for filing jointly. I am not allowed to do such a thing.
Why am I being denied tax benefits that my neighbor may have simply based on the gender of my spouse?
How can we say "Justice for all" when we mean All-except-Gays.
I am gay and for years I did not support it. I believed that it was between a man and a woman. My opinion has changed.
The US is a country where Church and State are separate. If the religion says that it's wrong to marry two men and two women, why should that influence the actions of the government? I think that because not everyone follows the same religious beliefs, it is wrong to force others to live by religious standards. I do not think churches should be required to oversee the marriages, but I do believe that in a purely secular stance, it is imperative that the government allow it for equality's sake.
I am Catholic, but I do believe that Jesus taught a message of acceptance and love of all, no matter their faults, as mentioned in the Gospels. It is because of this that I believe it should be legal. Jesus did not teach messages of hate and exclusion. So why can one say that God thinks homosexuality is wrong and that they should not be allowed to marry?
While homosexuality is mentioned in the Bible as a sin, the context of that is missing. In the Roman Empire, of which the land of Palestine/Israel was a part for hundreds of years, rape was a tool to show subordination of conquered lands, even men against men. It was used to show dominance and power. Surely Israel was no exception to this notion. Taking into account the biases of those who wrote the Bible and their perspectives, being that they were the under Roman control, it is therefore reasonable that they would write and feel the way they did. Knowing this background provides insight as to why things in the Bible, not just the homosexuality portion, may have been said.
I think they should add same sex marriage because it is only fair. Why should a woman and a man be able to get married because they love each other, and not a man and a man or a woman and a woman. It would be discrimination otherwise, and maybe our "rule makers" are starting to see this. Love is love period! The only reason rules have been made against same sex marriage is because of someones own personal values and feelings on the subject. If an individual does not feel that it is right than they don't have to do it, but they have no right to judge someone else's personal beliefs. All I can say is those conservative individuals need to take their church and shove it up their bum, and mind their own business. This is a free country right??
Then why have the conservatives been antagonistic to it for some years? Or greater accurately, why are they now making statements like that. That i will respond to. Even their own polls on comparable intercourse marriage have shown that the conventional public have not have been given any problems with comparable intercourse marriage exhibiting that they are on the incorrect side of the situation. in case you'l keep in mind Romney sent up an ordeal balloon asserting he's comfortable with gay couples adopting, even however all yet, i think of, one state enables gay couples from adopting whether they are no longer married. My guess is they might pass quiet approximately this for a pair months and then Romney will then choose some sort of comparable-intercourse marriage, besides the reality that he might no longer call it marriage. a controversy with it is that some states are removing rights for individuals in civil unions as we communicate, so it should not be suited for every physique till this is, certainly, noted as marriage. z
Yes, here is why:
I am heterosexual. I do not think it's anyone's place to approve or disapprove any idea anyone else has.
Traditional wedding vows state: Do you (name) take (name) and vow to honor, charish, love and be with in sickness and in health for as long as you both live.
Many would disagree with me, but the words husband, wife, man and woman are add ons.
In most church books, it simply says the people's names and at the end "I now pronounce you married"
This seems pretty open. No rules here.
So I say, why can't people of the same sex take those same vows?
Ecck I am so sick of seeing these people on here saying they are against it because of the bible. What does the bible have to do with it? If there is a God he loves all no matter what. If it's not hurting you why should you care whether or not two people who love each other want to get married. It should be legal and religion should have nothing to do with that decision. Makes me ill. I believe the bible is just a self policing tool anyway...owww wait didn't say I don't believe in God so bible thumpers don't freak out. I just think that the bible has been rewritten so many times who's to say whats suppose to be right. These politicians that say it's against the bible so we aren't going to legalize it are morons. Politics should have nothing to do with religion. That's how we got into this mess in the first place
If idiotes like Britney Spears can get married my gay friends who have all their braincells intact should be able to as well
There is no true definition or meaning of life. We shouldn't believe our only purpose in life is to create children or in some cases - brats!
I've only ever had hetrosexual relationships but have had a few crushes on female peers. I don't object to homosexuality at all. In fairness who are we to judge people because of who they love? we offically have no right to judge people anyway and it's not like we can help who we fall in love with.
Weither your a hetro or a homosexual, you're still human - your entitled to love who you like, be who you like , have your own identity and not be critisized/ penilised or bullied because of your sexual preference.!
Roll on the age of Freedom - if ever there will truley be any.
I am straight and I see no reason why a couple shouldn't have the same rights as anyone else based on the gender of one or both of them. I think its as bad as racial discrimination to deny anyone the right to be married or any other right that straight people have. It goes against everything America claims to be about. It shouldn't even be an issue. We're all SUPPOSED to be equal.
here's my answer, and it's the best answer that i can give. for a long time, i was a firm opposer of gay marriage, and homosexuality in general. i thought it was ignorant for people to think that you were born gay.
now that i've grown up, i have changed a bit. i have gay friends, who i totally sympathize with. and i even have what some would call "homosexual tendencies", leading me to believe that you are born with it, whether you like it or not.
as for the marriage thing... true, God created marriage for one man and one woman. but... imagine living with the person you love for 50 years, and when they die you don't get to have anything to do with his/her will, and what's done with the body, because you weren't officially "married" that would suck! so maybe we shouldn't call it marriage. but some sort of legal union between the two is the only humane thing to do.
I promote same sex marriage and I am straight, I feel it is a form of discrimination, you love who you love and I'd rather see two people together that are in love than war and hate, theres already to much hate in this world as it is and if its all about love and harmony than I am all for it.
